Measuring Library Services

Attended the pre-conference workshop entitled: From Data to Action – Library Services Assessment – the basic concept is if we aren’t addressing, assessing and measuring our services, how can we improve and demonstrate the value of our library?

Julie McKenna, the Deputy Library Director of Regina Public Library spoke with enthusiasm, humour and great passion.  She referred to a blog: to keep abreast of the latest information.

I spoke briefly to her after the session and she reported that Regina PL is also in the transition process from a system that was “status quo” for many years to becoming a more agile, accountable, flexible and responsive public library system.   To view the Regina Public Library’s Service Plan for 2009 to 2011, go to:
